About Us
"The most beloved people to Allah are those who bring the most benefit to others."
— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
It Started With a Single Plate
During a visit to Makkah, we witnessed a scene that changed everything. Outside a small, humble restaurant, people stood in long, quiet queues, waiting patiently for a meal they couldn't afford.
"We bought plates for those behind us. The feeling of connecting with a stranger through food without words, just shared dignity stayed with us long after we left."
We realised millions of Muslims around the world are unable to travel for Umrah. Through giving Sadaqah, they can still earn the reward of charity in the holiest city.
So we created One Plate Away. A bridge between your heart and their hunger.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does 100% of Fidya go to the needy?
Yes. Every penny of Fidya is used solely for food provided to eligible recipients. No operational or platform costs are deducted from Fidya.
How are logistics covered?
Logistics, delivery, coordination, and platform costs are funded through sadaqah contributions, optional support donations, and partnerships.
Why is there a difference between Fidya and sadaqah?
Because Fidya is an obligation with strict Islamic conditions, while sadaqah is a voluntary charity that allows flexibility to support both people and the systems that serve them.
Why does One Plate Away do this?
Because we believe charity should feel safe, dignified and spiritually sound for the giver and the receiver.
